Zonal Security Adviser Advocates Entrepreneurship as Tool for Crime Prevention

The Zonal Security Adviser (Ankpa Federal Axis) , Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohamed, has emphasized the critical role of entrepreneurship in tackling crime, fostering self-reliance, and promoting national development.
He made this known while attending an interactive session organized by the Ankpa Peoples Association (FAPA) in collaboration with local security agencies and youth leaders. The event, held at the Ankpa Local Government Legislative Hall, was themed: “Entrepreneurship: A Remedy to Crime Control, Self-Reliance, and Nation Building.”

The forum brought together community members, security officers, and youth leaders, all committed to exploring how entrepreneurial initiatives can serve as viable tools for reducing crime and empowering individuals.
Discussions at the session highlighted that economic empowerment is a major driver in mitigating crime. It was agreed that by equipping young people with entrepreneurial skills and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, communities can reduce insecurity and build a stronger foundation for growth and prosperity.


Youth leaders shared experiences from their entrepreneurial journeys, while security agencies provided practical perspectives on creating a safe and supportive environment for businesses. The exchange underscored the need for synergy between communities, entrepreneurs, and security institutions to achieve lasting solutions to societal challenges.
The interactive session was widely described as both enlightening and motivating, reinforcing the call for collective action in fostering security and development through economic empowerment.
