2027: Youth Assembly Throws Weight Behind Tinubu, Ododo
No fewer than 5,000 members of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Kogi State Chapter, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for a second term in office.
The endorsement was announced during a unified press conference held in Kogi State, where youth leaders declared their support for the incumbent President and Governor, citing their commitment to infrastructural development, economic growth, and improved welfare for citizens at both state and national levels.
Addressing journalists at the briefing, the Speaker of YAN in Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Bologi Muhammed Yaba, disclosed that the Assembly also endorsed former Governor Yahaya Bello for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat, as well as Engr. Mustapha Hassan Obaje for the House of Representatives seat representing Idah, Ofu, Igalamela-Odolu, and Ibaji Federal Constituency.
According to him, the endorsements followed extensive consultations with traditional rulers, community influencers, women groups, and grassroots mobilizers across the affected constituencies.
The Youth Assembly leadership stated that its decision was driven by the need to sustain continuity and accelerate ongoing development initiatives in Kogi State and Nigeria at large. The group expressed confidence that the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo would consolidate existing achievements and further advance governance reforms.
Other speakers at the event, including Dr. Bawa Dangana, Hajia Fatima Allahdey, Amb. Maimunat Hassan, and Hon. Sebastian, echoed the position of the Assembly, declaring that there is “no vacancy” at the Presidential Villa and Lugard House. They described President Tinubu and Governor Ododo as leaders committed to improving the welfare of citizens and deserving of another term to complete ongoing projects and reforms.
The speakers further praised former Governor Yahaya Bello as a transformative leader who laid the foundation for modern development in Kogi State, expressing confidence in his capacity to effectively represent Kogi Central at the Senate. They also described Engr. Mustapha Hassan Obaje as a capable candidate with the competence and experience required to reposition the Idah Federal Constituency, noting that his presence in the House of Representatives would significantly benefit his constituents.
