Kogi Police Commissioner Endorses 2026 Youth Security Summit
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has endorsed the Kogi Youth Security Summit 2026, describing the initiative as a timely platform for promoting security awareness and strengthening collaboration between young people and security agencies.
CP Kankarofi gave the endorsement when he received members of the Central Organising Committee of the summit at his office at the Force Headquarters in Lokoja last week.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, Comrade Abdulrahaman Abdulmumeen Enesi.
The visit formed part of the committee’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders and security institutions ahead of the summit, which is designed to bring young people, security agencies, government representatives and other relevant stakeholders together to discuss emerging security challenges and possible solutions.
Speaking during the meeting, CP Kankarofi welcomed the initiative and expressed the command’s support for efforts aimed at involving young people in security conversations.
The police commissioner’s endorsement is expected to further strengthen the summit’s engagement with security stakeholders in the state and encourage broader youth participation in efforts to promote peace, safety and community security.
Enesi, who led the delegation, appreciated the Commissioner of Police for granting the committee an audience and for supporting the summit.
He said the committee considered the involvement of security agencies essential to the success of the summit, particularly as young people remain important partners in intelligence gathering, crime prevention, community engagement and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
The Kogi Youth Security Summit 2026 is expected to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue on security issues affecting young people and communities across the state, while promoting responsible citizenship and stronger cooperation between youths and security institutions.
The police command’s endorsement adds to the growing stakeholder support for the initiative as the organising committee continues consultations ahead of the summit.
