Fayose douses tension in Ekiti over killing of herdsman

Governor Ayodele Fayose has warned against escalating tension and causing ethnic rivalry in the state.
He stated this on twitter while confirming and reacting to the report of the killing of a herdsman in Oke Aro-Erele area of Ekiti, which was said to have raised tension in the State.
The victim, Mr. Baguda Dengi was reportedly killed on Monday by a Tiv man.
The Governor who sued for peace, tweeted “I want peace in my state and everybody living here is from Ekiti whether you are Fulani, Tiv, Yoruba or anybody.
Fayose advised residents not to allow “cow matter to cause a problem and appealed to concerned stakeholders against festering the Oke Ako- Irele issue.”
The Governor urged concerned stakeholders to cooperate with the government and vowed to fish out culprits involved in the murder.
Although there was a rumored reprisal attack in the community by some herdsmen, which led to the prompt conveyance of an emergency meeting by the Governor Fayose involving relevant stakeholders on Tuesday, where the Governor assured of justice
Governor Fayose who has been vocal in condemning recent killing in Benue and other parts of the country reiterated that bloodshed would not be entertained in Ekiti.
