Mandela Fellow lauds Bello on Cattle Colony

Mandela Fellow in Nigeria, Kogi born Abdullahi O. Haruna, alias Haruspice has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for keying into the Cattle Colony establishment of the Federal Government.

This commendation is sequel to the donation of over 15 thousand hectares of land in Kogi to the Federal Government by the Governor for the establishment of the colony in the State.

Haruspice who gave this remark on his face book page on Saturday, averred that apart from solving the perennial farmers/herders clashes, the colony would attract development to the Confluence State.

His statement which was in the form of an open letter to Governor Bello read: “Your decision to key into the federal government colony business is a welcome development. I join you in that foresight. A colony for herders will eliminate the frequent clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

“Above all, agricultural activities will pick up as dung from the colonies can be used as manure by farmers and hay from the farms can be used as feeds for the cattle. With this, farmers would have reduced the incidence of bush burning.”

Haruspice who is a notable journalist and social media influencer appealed to the Governor to consider his native home in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State in the colony business in order to boost economic activities for his people.

“When you are selecting the grazing reserves, please make sure Imane is chosen. We want to be included in the new phase of development. A colony own by Federal Government would attract security, roads, health facilities and ready-made market to Imane.

“Jobs would be created for veterinary doctors, transport activities would increase and more economic activities would spring up in my sleepy abode of Imane.

“The value of land would appreciate; we would be opened to new frontiers of integration, love and prosperity,” he added

He called on Nigerians to be tolerant and accommodating, saying that there wouldn't be development without cooperation and coexistence.

“Only those who close their minds to change remain stagnant in the race of development. Abuja is what it is today because the Gbagyis welcomed visitors to their land. That Abuja is the most popular name in Africa is not by
