by Akadiri Ademola

Prominent political actors, in the People' Democratic Party (PDP) including the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have paid solidarity visit to embattled Former Plateau Governor, Jonah Jang, who was denied bail over allegations of Financial crimes

The Public Relations Officer, Plateau Command of the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) Mr Luka Ayedoo  who confirmed this to the News Agency Of Nigeria on Monday in Jos and monitored by Insidestory correspondent, asserted that other prominent persons who have visited Jang included Prof. Jerry Gana, a PDP chieftain, some senators from the South-South region and Chief Chris Giwa, another PDP chieftain in Plateau.

Jang who currently represents Jos North as a Senator at green chamber was denied bail by Justice Daniel Longji of the Plateau High Court and was asked to be remanded in prison

Ayedoo opined that although Jang was currently in prison custody, he was still entitled to have visiors and would not be denied of such fundamental right.

The PRO however mentioned that certain restrictions were placed on the calibre of persons who visited the former Governor, so as not to turn the prison  yard into a political arena, while stating that those given access to see him were few political allies, family members, his doctor and his lawyer
