COVID-19: Kogi State Government welcomes sensitization partnership with NCDC

The National Center For Diesease Control NCDC, and the Kogi State Government today renewed their commitment in a partnership towards effective fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

The aim of the partnership is to develop a formal structure that will enhance effective information dissemination in detection, response and control of the outbreak.

The Kogi State Commissioner for information and Communications, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo while receiving in audience a team from the Communication Division of the NCDC in his office earlier today, stated that his ministry was ready to welcome the new partnership approach by NCDC On Effective Sensitization campaign to manage and control the spread of Covid-19 in the state.

The Commissioner who emphasized the need for more Sensitization approach in addressing the spread of Covid-19 in the state, applauded the NCDC for coming out for a roundtable on the way forward.

He noted with delight that Kogi State Government has been proactive in dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic saying that is why the State has recorded zero incident case.

Hon Fanwo called for training and capacity building of information managers in the state to carry out adequate and effective campaign across the state.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the NCDC Communication team, Dr Yahaya Disu said his team to organize requisite training for information managers, key pressmen and mean stream Media officers in the state for adequate skills and knowledge in dealing with the pandemic.

He stated that all hands must be on deck To jointly work together in combating the spread of the virus at all levels.

A two-day training was scheduled for Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August 2020 at the Glass House of Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.
