‘Adieu my friend,’ Kogi State Commissioner for solid minerals mourns deceased former Kogi guber aspirant, Mallam Umar Dan’Asabe

As the people of Lokoja continue to mourn the death of their illustrious children, Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Muhammed has written an emotion – laden condolence message to Late Mallam Umar Dan’Asabe Ibrahim.

He described Mallam Dan’Asabe as a dependable ally, political associate and dependable friend, whose wisdom, passion, commitment, loyalty and tact would be sorely missed.

While praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of the former governorship aspirant, Engr Bashir said Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency has lost a major stakeholder making case for its development.

He recalled their journey through political and other forms of agitations which brought them closer to one another and described the deceased as a man that was dedicated to whatever he put his mind to.

“I couldn’t bring myself to truly understand why death had to take my friend away at this point in time, but as a Muslim, we have to take whatever comes our way – good or bad. Allah has a reason for everything and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

“Allah gives and takes; and He has taken my friend. Who are we mere mortals to say otherwise? All that is left now is for us to pray to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus,” Engr Bashir stressed.

He therefore urged his relatives to take solace in the fact that he lived a fairly fulfilled and tasked them to continue to remember him in their supplications by asking for Allah’s mercy on his soul.
