Advocacy for Youth Leadership in governance confers award Treasurer of the Year on Kogi LGA Treasurer »

The Treasurer for Kogi Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Ohikwura has been awarded with an honour as the Treasurer of the Year by the Advocacy for Youth Leadership in Governance.

The award was presented on him on Tuesday in Lokoja by the body which said it was in recognition of his immense contribution to and engagement of the youths in his leadership style.

According to the group, Alhaji Ohikwura was a that demonstrates capacity and empathy to impact the youths positively because of his genuine love for the next generation.

The body said it recognised the commitment and peaceful disposition of the award recipient, noting that he was a brilliant man and a man of peace who espoused humility and determination to develop the entire society.

Responding after receiving the award, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Ohikwura stressed that he was humbled by the recognition and said it was a reward for the work that he has been doing to better the society.

He noted that the award would in no small ways motivate him to do more, stressing that even without the recognition it was in his nature to impact society wherever he found himself.

He described the youths as leaders irrespective of where they found themselves, assuring of his commitment to doing his best to make the society better by making positive contribution to overall development.

He expressed gratitude to the staff and leadership of Kogi Local Government Area, his family and friends and other stakeholders for their support which made the group to recognise his work to better humanity.
