Ajinuhi gets second term as Kogi Christian Pilgrims Commission’s Chairman

The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Christian Pilgrims Commission, Pastor Samuel Ajinuhi has been reappointed for the second term in office by Governor Yahaya Bello.

Pastor Ajinuhi made this known on Monday while playing host to religious correspondents on a congratulatory visit to his office in Lokoja.

The elated clergy in an interview with the correspondents thanked the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his reappointment and scored him higher in his effort at ensuring religious tolerance in the state.

While applauding the Governor for making the state free of sectarian crisis, Ajinuhi said “the facts speak for themselves as Kogi State has not been known for the peculiar religious challenges most states in North Central Zone are faced with.”

The Executive Chairman, who regarded religious unity as an essential element for peace and development, added that the Governor had succeeded in carving a niche for himself through his efforts to work harmoniously with the two prominent religious bodies.

Still on his reappointment as the Commission’s chairman, he expressed gratitude to Governor Bello and all stakeholders, “the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Arike Folashade Ayoade who saw the need in his continuation in office for the confidence reposed in him.

“I want to say, I am grateful to His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for reappointing me.

“I pray that the government under his leadership will not only succeed but will be ultimately successful in fulfilling the desires of his people,” he stressed.

He equally expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their patronage and partnership, assuring of sustained honesty in his dealings.

“We are here to serve you better as a commission. You can be rest assured of our openness, sincerity and honesty.”

On preparations towards 2020 pilgrimage to Jerusalem, he noted that: “2020 is just for preparation. We are looking at January through to February. The official rate is not different from last year’s rate. The only addition, perhaps, might be introduced by the protocol for Covid-19 testing.
