Monday Anyebe Receives Social Impact, Youth-Oriented Commissioner Award in Ibadan
The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, has received the Social Impact and Youth-Oriented Commissioner of the Year award at the 7th edition of the Nigerian Young Minds Impact Award (NYMIA) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The award was presented to Anyebe at the ceremony held on Wednesday in recognition of his work as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kogi State.
In a statement after receiving the award, Anyebe expressed gratitude to the organisers, describing the recognition as both an honour and a reminder of the responsibility attached to leadership and public service.
“Being recognised for my work as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kogi State is not just an honour; it is a reminder that leadership is a responsibility and service must speak through impact,” he said.
The Commissioner dedicated the award to young people in Kogi State, his team and others working to advance youth and sports development across the state.
He also appreciated the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as his inclusive leadership, confidence in young people and commitment to creating opportunities for youths to participate, contribute and thrive.
According to Anyebe, the recognition would not be treated as an endpoint but as an encouragement to continue serving and delivering on his responsibilities.
“For me, this award is not a destination. It is a call to do more, lead by example, serve with humility and remain accountable to the people,” he said.
He added that while the recognition was appreciated, it also carried a greater responsibility to continue contributing to youth and sports development.
“The recognition is appreciated. The responsibility is greater,” Anyebe said.
The 7th Nigerian Young Minds Impact Award brought together personalities and stakeholders to recognise contributions to youth development, leadership, social impact and entrepreneurship.
Anyebe’s recognition places him among personalities honoured at the event for their contributions to development and positive social impact.
