Olumoko Endorses Ododo All Campus Games 2026, Backs Youth Development
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director-General of the APC Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi West during the 2023 governorship election, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, has endorsed the Ododo All Campus Games 2026.
Olumoko gave his endorsement on Tuesday when he received members of the organising committee of the games at his office in Abuja.
The APC chieftain, while speaking during the meeting, emphasised the importance of investing in young people and creating platforms that would enable them to develop their talents, build meaningful careers and contribute to the development of Kogi State.
He described sports as an important avenue for youth development, noting that beyond competition and entertainment, sporting activities could help young people develop discipline, leadership skills, teamwork and a strong sense of responsibility.
Olumoko also commended the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as its commitment to youth empowerment and development across the state.
According to him, programmes that directly engage young people and provide opportunities for them to discover and utilise their potential are critical to building a prosperous future for Kogi State.
He stressed the need for stakeholders to support initiatives capable of bringing students and young people together while promoting healthy competition, unity and talent development.
The APC chieftain assured the organising committee of his support for the Ododo All Campus Games 2026, expressing optimism that the event would make a meaningful contribution to youth development and the overall growth of the state.
Earlier, members of the organising committee briefed Olumoko on the objectives and vision of the 2026 edition of the games and sought his support for the successful organisation of the event.
The committee expressed appreciation to the former campaign council director-general for receiving them and for his endorsement of the initiative.
The Ododo All Campus Games 2026 is expected to bring together students from tertiary institutions across Kogi State in a platform designed to promote sporting excellence, unity, youth engagement and talent discovery.
