Attah Igala: Kogi East Emerging Leaders Forum pays condolence visit on the Chief Mourner, Council of Chiefs in Idah

A delegation of the Kogi East Emerging Leaders Forum (KEELF) yesterday paid a condolence visit to the chief mourner and council of chiefs at the Attah’s palace in Idah.

The delegation was led by the Convener, Dr. S.O Usman and Coordinator, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim. Other members include Dr. Aurelius Omali, Local Government Coordinators and members drawn from the nine Local Government Areas.

After signing the condolence register, the group was welcomed by the chief mourner and members of the council of chiefs.

In his remark, Dr. S.O Usman recalled his interaction with his HRM (Dr.) Michael Ameh Oboni II on the group’s maiden visit to the palace where Gabaidu after listening to the vision of the group described it as the most organised group of young people he had met so far, and impressed with the group’s mandate, instantly accepted to serve in the capacity of Grand Patron of KEELF.

He described the monarch as one who always prioritized the development of the Igala nation and said that his noble inputs will be significantly missed.

Dr. Usman appealed to the council of chiefs to grant the group opportunity to significantly participate in the burial programme.


In his remark, the coordinator of the group, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed thanked the council for the warm welcome accorded the delegation. He described the Gabaidu as a progressive who was at the forefront of advocating for the development of his kingdom.

Dr. Ibrahim informed the council of chiefs that KEELF has planned series of programs beginning with a virtual tribute session to honour their Grand Patron. He prayed for the unity and development of the Igala kingdom.

In his response, the chief mourner on behalf of the council of chief thanked the delegation for coming and assured them of the continuous support of the palace. He described the Attah as one who prioritized educational development and revival of the rich cultural heritage of the Igala people. He prayed for continuous peace and unity in the kingdom.

The delegation was led by the palace secretary to visit the residential home of His Royal Majesty where prayers were offered for the Attah and his family members.
