Ayade: Panic rocks PDP, as party appeals to members in Cross River to stay put

In a desperate bid to salvage whatever would be left of it structures in Cross River State following the exit of Governor Ben Ayade, the Peoples Democratic Party has resulted to begging members of the party in the state to remain, assuring them of better backages.

Inside sources has revealed that the leadership of the PDP in Abuja have been making frantic efforts to persuade stakeholders in Cross River State not to join the Governor in decamping to the APC.

In a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the party called on critical stakeholders to immediately join ranks and ensure that they don’t lose all their structures.

The statement reads; “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) notes the decamping of the Cross Rivers State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade.

“Our party calls on all critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party in Cross Rivers State to immediately pull together and ensure that all structure of our party in the state remain intact.

“The PDP wishes Governor Ayade well in his new political sojourn as well as in his future endeavours”.

However, sources further revealed that all the appeals and offer from the national headquarters appears to be falling on deaf ears as many stakeholders, state and local government executives of the party who alleged mistreatment by the party have made up their minds to move with the Governor.
