Bello’s policies form real ‘Igala Agenda for Kogi,’ Onoja says as APC inaugurates campaign council for Olamaboro, Igml/Odolu LGAs
Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja says the policy being adopted by the current government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to spread development to all parts of the state and Igalaland as what can truly be termed ‘Igala Agenda.’
He made the statement on Sunday in Okpo and Ajaka headquarters of Olamaboro and Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Areas while inaugurating the councils’ campaign teams for the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State.
The Chief of Staff who is also the deputy governroship candidate of All Progressives Congress lampooned previous administrations for deceiving the people of Igalaland and his home state of Olamaboro in particular with lip service about ‘Igala Agenda’ while lining their pockets and those of their relations.
Hon Onoja stressed that development agenda should be one that makes concrete efforts at touching the lives of people of the state, noting that Governor Bello has been able to do that.
He stated that it was in the spirit of continuous efforts to spread development to all parts of Igalaland that Bello selected him as his running mate, noting that it was necessary for people of the two LGAs to reciprocate the gesture by voting massively for the APC across all the wards and units.
Onoja, who used the occasions to pay special tribute to the former governor of Kogi State, Late Prince Abubakar Audu for his service to the APC and determination to making Kogi great, said he would be happy with the Governor for his impact on Igalaland wherever he is.
He said if Audu was alive today, he wouldn’t have had any entanglement with the PDP, stressing that those who claimed to be the late Audu’s associates but are planning to work with the PDP in the dark were only disrespecting the memory of prince Abubakar Audu. “A true Audu political family will never associate with the PDP”. Onoja said.
Speaking at Okpo, the administrator of the Local Government Area, Hon Nicodemus Adejoh called on party members and supporters to work assiduously for the victory of APC in view of the impact the present administration has had on the council and the state in general.
He said the people of the council would own the ongoing governorship campaign with passion for the sake of their own and compete with Governor Bello’s own Local Government Area – Okene, on who would produce the highest number of votes, adding that the victory of the party was not in doubt.
In his acceptance speech, the DG Campaign Council for Olamaboro, Engr Sonny Okoh assured the leadership of the party and candidates of their preparedness to ensure victory and called on all members of the committee to embrace their neighbours and convince them to join the APC.
