‘Bring up innovative ideas that will add value to govt’ – Gov. Bello task new appointees

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State have charged political appointees in the state to be smart and innovative in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

The Governor gave this charge today during the swearing-in ceremony of new political appointees of the state government.

The Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja performed the ceremony on behalf of the Governor.

In his speech, the Deputy Governor admonished the appointees to follow the vision of their leader Governor Yahaya Bello and uphold his core values of zero tolerance to ethnicity, religious and class discrimination.

He said the three cardinal values of Governor Bello which he has upheld all through included sacrificial service, individuals capacity/capability and character. He opined that they were the values that were lacking in the body polity of the country, but the Governor have continually led with these values and it has made him a reference point in the country.

Onoja advised the appointees to be loyal and imbibe the values of Governor Bello in their service to the state.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Special Adviser on Project Monitoring, Usman Ochidi thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for considering them worthy to be appointed.

He said although multitude of people worked for the reelection of the Governor, considering them amongst the lot is not to say that they are better than others, but a privilege. He pledged on behalf of others not to disappoint the confidence reposed.

Those who were sworn in today included Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Board members and Government House Chapel officials.
