…Hon. Fancy commends the gesture of the philanthropist

An APC stalwart in Kogi State, Chief Babayemi Olorunfemi has commissioned a mini football field, basket ball and volleyball courts at the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State chapter Youth House in Lokoja.

The sporting facilities were renovated with the one million naira earlier donated by the philanthropist, Chief Babayemi, to the council for the renovation of some dilapidated facilities at the youth house.

Performing the commissioning earlier today in Lokoja, Chief Babayemi expressed satisfaction that the leadership of the council thought it wise to utilize the funds judiciously for the intended process. He said Kogi NYCN under the leadership of the Acting Chairman, Comr. Osiako Sunday has, within two months in office, shown sincerity and the will to reposition the council to serve the youths better.

The philanthropist who earlier pledge to donate additional two million naira to the council if the initial one million was properly utilized, immediately fulfilled his promise by announcing the additional funds which will be released to the council to enable it carryout further renovation and upgrades at the youth house.

Babayemi who used the opportunity to call on the youths to continue in their support for the APC governorship candidate in the forthcoming election, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, urged them to utilize their network to mobilize massive votes to ensure overwhelming victory.

On his part, an ally of the APC governorship candidate, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege who participated in the commissioning, commended the philanthropist, Chief Babayemi for supporting youths in the state.

He said Hon. Ododo is commited to furthering the youths inclusiveness policies of the New Direction government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, adding that the youths will continue to have a say in government when Ododo is elected.

Hon. Fancy also pledged his continuous support for youth activities in the state.

Earlier, the Acting Chairman of NYCN, Kogi State chapter, Comrade Osiako Sunday thanked Chief Babayemi for his gesture. He described the philanthropist as a lover of youth development which is a passion shared with the APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

He assured that the youths of Kogi State are solidly behind the APC candidate, describing as the best man to consolidate on the youths friendly policies of governor Yahaya Bello.

The commissioning event was attended by past Kogi NYCN chairmen led by the pioneer chairman, Comr. Haroon Opotu, and other youths leaders.
