Chief Erico Unveils ₦11.5m Support Package for Ankpa CWO

Kogi East Senatorial hopeful, Chief Dr Joseph Ameh Erico, has announced financial interventions totalling ₦11.5 million for the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Catholic Diocese of Idah and related programmes in Ankpa Deanery.

Erico announced the support while joining members of the Catholic faithful at the 16th anniversary celebration of the Catholic Women Organisation, Ankpa Deanery, where he highlighted the role of faith-based organisations, women and community groups in promoting social development.

The ₦11.5 million support package comprises ₦7 million to the Catholic Women Organisation to facilitate the commencement of its proposed flagship development project, ₦3 million to the Catholic Diocese of Idah for diocesan programmes, ₦1 million for the welfare of priests within the deanery and ₦500,000 to Rev. Fr. DoBon in support of his ministry.

Erico said faith-based organisations and women groups remained important to nation building, moral development and grassroots mobilisation, stressing the need for greater support for initiatives aimed at strengthening families and communities.

He also commended the Catholic Diocese of Idah and its Bishop, Most Rev. Anthony Adaji, MSP, for providing spiritual leadership and promoting peace, unity and harmony across Igala land.

According to him, his support for the Catholic Women Organisation reflects his commitment to faith-based initiatives, women empowerment and community development.

The anniversary celebration also provided an opportunity for members of the CWO to reflect on the organisation’s 16 years of service, spiritual growth and contributions to communities across the Catholic Diocese of Idah.

Leaders of the Catholic Women Organisation appreciated the intervention, describing it as support for faith-based initiatives and women-centred development programmes.

Prayers were offered for peace, unity and continued progress across the land, while participants also highlighted the role of collaboration between religious institutions and community leaders in promoting development and social cohesion.
