COS promises KGSG’s smooth working relationship with the Media

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Mohammed Jamiu has promised that the State Government would ensure a smooth working relationship with members of the fourth estate of the realm

The COS made this promise on Thursday while receiving members of the Nigerian Union of Journalist Kogi State Chapter in his office at the Government House, Lokoja.

The Chief of Staff on behalf of the State Government also presented Android mobile devices to journalist as part of its contribution to aiding their day to day work.

He used the medium to thank the members of the media for their continued support for the New Direction Government stating that the State Government had no option but to work with them

The COS affirmed that both the government and the media were partners in progress and it was expedient that they both worked together for the greater good of the people.

He promised that government were looking into meeting the request tendered by the union particularly the renovation of their Nuj building and provision of mobility.

Earlier, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, kogi state council, Alhaji Momoh jimoh Adeiza, assured that journalists that the state would always uphold the ethics of the practice, by only reporting the facts.

He called on the government to be open to the media by providing timely information that would ease the job of journalists, saying that lies can only thrive where there is no information.

While thanking government for the gesture, Adeiza promised that the council would continue to explore areas of collaborations between the government and the union in the overall interest of the state and it’s people.
