Sends thugs to disrupt gathering

As local government elections in Kogi State draws closer, the All Progressives Congress seams to be doting the I’s and crossing the T’s with the aim of going into the election with a strong and united house.

This cannot however, be said of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state as the party has shown no significant interest in winning any seat in the December 12 elections. Many of their leaders and supporters are seen all over social media campaigning for APC Aspirants as if to cause disharmony in the APC.

This claim is further buttressed when thugs allegedly sponsored by the opposition People’s Democratic Party in Omala local government area, today were faced with stiff resistance from youths in the area when they (thugs) attempted to disrupt APC stakeholders meeting in the area.

The meeting according to eye witnesses was called by the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Omale local government area to forge a united front ahead of the forthcoming council polls in the state.

The meeting which was attended by major stakeholders in the local government, including the Member representing Omala in the state House of Assembly, Prince Collins, the Local Government APC Chairman, Akor Adaidu and other party executive, ended with the adoption of Honourable Aboh Ibrahim popularly known as “Ajebuweneje”. as Chairmanship consensus candidate along with 11 others for Councillorship positions.

Aboh, the stakeholders affirmed to be a loyal party man who was once APC Youth leader in the LG. His efforts along with others produced the first APC Assembly member after 17 years. Omala is the LG of Former Governor Ibrahim Idris.

However, thugs identified to be members of the PDP in the area, who hitherto saw Hon. Abuh as a threat stormed the venue of the meeting with the intention of disrupting the peaceful gathering.

They were however stopped and sent away.

The Zonal Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ahmed Attah was also on ground to witness the meeting and adjudged it to be fair and transparent.
