Covid- 19: KGSG to enforce Sit At Home order, bans Okada, Keke from operation

The Kogi State Covid-19 squadron committee has ordered the temporary ban of social and religious gathering in the state as part of its measure to curtail the spread of the Pandemic, Covid-19 into the State.

Chairman of the Committee, Chief Edward Onoja made this announcement this during a press briefing on Monday. He also mentioned that In order to make people sit at home, commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists were temporarily banned and full enforcement would commence from Saturday 28th March, 2020 until further notice.

He pointed out that Individuals were advised to observe preventive measures such as handwashing, use of sanitizers and nose masks stating that the violation of earlier directives would attract stiff penalties.

The Deputy Governor affirmed that all vehicles coming into the state would have their passengers screened as they would not be allowed to stop except at designated points to be manned by health, security and environmental officers.

The committee noted that only stores selling foodstuffs, pharmaceutical products and other essential commodities are allowed to open for highly regulated business.

He revealed also that others would be closed in the battle against the global pandemic mentioning that any food or medicine store with more than five customers at a time would be shut.

It directed that anyone with high temperatures, dry cough, difficulty in breathing and other respiratory disorder should call the designated emergency lines while he urged the people and other road users to cooperate with our security agents and health officials who would man the following designated areas for proper screening of passengers coming into the state.

While saluting the cooperation of the people, who recognized the dangers posed by the state’s location as the centre of the nation, the Chairman expressed that the world would survive this deadly virus if recommended health protocols were duly observed.
