Covid-19: Kogi workers receive salary while observing stay at home directive

Kogi State Government has paid civil March 2020 salary to mitigate the harsh economic effect of the ‘Stay At Home’ directive of the government amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking with our correspondence via phone call, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed, confirmed this and said the Governor is passionate about the wellbeing of the people and ensured that money be made available to civil servants to enable them stuck up food and other things as they observe the stay at home directive.

He said the governor wishes that the payment would provide the needed economic support for workers to stabilise in the light of the measures taken to halt the spread of COVID-19 into the state.
