… Advised against hasty adoption of vaccine.

Nigeria Youths have lauded Governor Yahaya Bello for taking a stand in ensuring that resumption of schools in Kogi State remains 18th of January, 2021 even when other states across the country seems to be uncertain with resumptions.

The stance of Governor Yahaya Bello on resumption of schools in Kogi State is one that comes with courage and strength and also one that favours students and also stood in defense of our dear educational system in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, the Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the Council, Comrade Isreal Femi Alonge, said it becomes necessary to salute the courage of Governor Yahaya Bello for standing in for Students in Kogi State by ensuring that academic calendar is not scattered with the confusion of not knowing when to resume for the 2020/2021 academic year by way of stamping that schools in the state resumes on the 18th of January, 2020.

Alonge appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for having his ears on ground by way of not listening to the advices that recommends that resumption of schools in the country should put on hold till further notice as a result of the said increase in the Covid-19 case in the country but rather stood in favour of the Nigerian students and youths that resumption of schools should commence immediately for academic activities following strick adherence to the rules on safety against Covid-19.

He said it is noteworthy that Mr President deserves commendations for taking such a wonderful decision which according to him was in the favour of the Nigerian students and youths.

For no reason should the education of our country be bastardized therefore, resumption of schools for academic activities should be allowed with immediate effect in order to keep our students busy and off the streets. We never can tell, a Nigerian students can possibly come out with a cure to this dreaded Covid-19 Virus and this can only happen when Students are allowed to go back to schools for academic activities, Alonge noted.

Also, Alonge advised that the federal government be careful in patronising the PFIZER Vaccine against Covid-19 in the country noting that records have shown that the vaccine comes with greater threat to the health of humans.

According to Alonge, reports have revealed that at least 21 Americans have suffered life threatening allergic reactions to Pfizer’s Covid Vaccine, South African Experts have also warned that a single vaccine dose leads to greater risk from new Corona Virus variants, the U.S has reported more severe allergic reactions to the vaccine. The government should not wait until Nigerians begin to experience these complains before it realises that this vaccine is totally injurious to health.

As a matter of urgency, the Nigerian Youths are totally not in support of the patronage of this particular PFIZER Vaccine as we can not dare out our lives at risk on a vaccine that has been alleged of causing allergic reactions to its users.

It becomes very necessary to call on President Muhammadu Buhari not to give in room for the merchants of this vaccine to make a good yet dangerous sales in our country for the aftermath may come with greater health danger. It should not be a case of bad to worse, Alonge emphasized.

This vaccine does not come with a hundred percent assurance of cure against Covid-19 rather, reports have shown that its side effect is hazardous to human health. Hence, the need for it not to patronized by the Nigerian government becomes sacrosanct. Consequent upon this comes our total rejection of the vaccine, Alonge reiterated.
