Development takes precedence over anything else. Says Gowon
The Newly appointed Member, Board of National Railway Corporation, Chief Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN) has said that human and community development should be the primary focus of any individual or group, saying that he stands for the collective development of Kogi State as against any parochial sectional aganda.
Speaking to our correspondent today at the government house Lokoja during a visit, Chief Gowon said that his visit was to see his brother Edward Onoja and register his sincere appreciation to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for considering him worthy to be appointed into the board.
“Governor Bello is an upright man who has done well for the people of Kogi State, despite the challenges, he remains focused in positively affecting the lives of the masses. He deserved to be reelected to enable him consolidate on his achievements. I thank him for all he has done for me, my family and community at large. We are loyal to him and will reciprocate when the time comes”.
Chief Gowon said promoters of sectional politics don’t mean well for Kogi State and expressed confidence that no matter the gang up, Governor Yahaya Bello will emerge victorious at both the primaries and the governorship election.
He appreciated the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja and the Kogi East APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Attah for the role played in facilitating his appointment.
He reiterate his determination to serve the corporation and the country faithfully and thank God and president Muhammade Buhari for approving his appointment.
Speaking, the Chief of Staff, Chief Edward Onoja said that the appointed of Chief Gowon has once again shown to the world that governor Yahaya Bello is a detribalized leader who is more concerned about our collective good.
He described Chief Gowan as a loyal and competent party man who is deserving of the appointment.
Onoja assured that the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello will continue to influence opportunities for the people of Kogi state and charged Chief Gowon Haruna to use the position to serve the country well.
