Ebira Traditional Council Recieves New CMD of Reference Hospital, Okene »

It was a moment of reflections and joy as the traditional rulers of Ebira land ably led by His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Alh Ado Ibrahim, yesterday recieved the newly appointed CMD of Reference Hospital, Okene, Prof Solomon Avidime in his Azad palace.

Prof. Avidime who was in the Ohinoyi palace to pay a courtesy visit was accompanied by Dr. Babalola, a consultant paediatrician with state ministry of health on secondment to Reference hospital Okene, Dr Yahaya Ibrahim Oniwon, a senior medical practitioner based in Minna, Niger state and Matron of the Reference hospital Okene, Rosemary Ugorji. Others are stakeholders like Alh Kashim Ihima, Hon Amoka Zubair and the chairman of APC, Okene LGA Hon Yakubu Gowon.

The traditional rulers expressed their joy for having a world-class hospital sitting on their soil and having their own industrious son as pioneer CMD of the hospital.

The Ohinoyi of Ebira land expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for bringing a state of the art medical facilities to Ebira land and also reiterated that the new CMD is a gift to Ebira land to be a pioneer CMD. He stated that Prof Solomon Avidime comes from a well known family background in Ebira land and has distinguished himself in the world of medicine with remarkable professional achievements. He added that the state government got it right in appointing Prof Solomon Avidime whom he described as a square peg on the square hole.

The monarch promised to give all support necessary of him to make the hospital a success and prayed that the new medical facility won’t fail but record ground breaking successes in delivering adequate medical needs to the people of Ebira land and the large number of people who will be coming from far and near to take advantage of the world class facilities in the hospital.

Earlier, the CMD, Prof Avidime noted that good things have been recorded during the rein of Alh Ado Ibrahim, and Okene Reference hospital sitting beside his palace is one that will attract lots of medical tourists to the land, he promised to bring his wealth of experience in medicine and administration to deliver the best medical care for the people of Ebira land and the world in general.

Other traditional rulers present express their readiness to partner with the management of the hospital in order to have the best for their subjects.

Recall that the hospital, on Monday officially commence operations and several patients were recieved and adequately attended to having two emergency and over 78 other patients on the first day.
