Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja today Monday, June 29th hosted the leadership of former GYB Connect, also known as ‘Small Governors’ from the 21 local government areas of the state.

Onoja said the meeting was to rob minds with the coordinators as it availed the opportunity to update the group on the plans of government, and to also quell the assumption from certain quarters alleging that the governor had abandoned them after the election.

He said Governor Yahaya Bello’s second term began on a ‘ready to go’ footing, and that government was working round the clock to deliver quality governance to the people despite the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic which has devastated the nation’s economy.

The Deputy Governor assured GYB Small Governors and all other groups that worked for the reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello to keep faith with the government by engaging with government officials and party stakeholders in their various local government areas, assuring that the Government at the center values and is fully mindful of their service to the New Direction Project.

He reminded them to grab the opportunities in the forthcoming local government elections, Community Policing policy of the Nigeria Police, N- Power and the 1000 youth for job opportunities, and as leaders they should enlighten their grassroot followers to take full advantage of the opportunities too.

Coordinators who took turns to speak appreciated the Deputy Governor for the meeting. They affirmed that their loyalty remains firm with the government and promised to continue to contribute their quota to the success of the administration.
