Engr Bashir Gegu lauds appointment of Prof Ibrahim Aguye as PAAU Governing Council Chairman, Pro Chancellor
Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu has applauded Governor Yahaya Bello over his decision to appoint Prof Ibrahim Abdul Aguye as Chairman of Governing Council and Pro Chancellor for the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The Commissioner made this statement in a statement he personally signed and made available to pressman in Lokoja in which he also congratulated other new members of Council.
Engr Bashir Gegu, who described the appointee as a Square peg in a square hole, said the Chairman and Pro Chancellor would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the job having been a university don and doyen of the academia for many decades.
He said the Kotonkarfe born Professor who doubles as a former Chief Medical Director of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) in Zaria where he was also the Dean of Medicine as well as serving in the same capacity at the Kaduna State University has done well academically and in terms of administration.
While praying Almighty Allah to give the appointees the wherewithal to discharge their duties excellently, he called on them to contribute their own quota in assisting the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to achieve his vision of taking education in Kogi State to the next level.
The Commissioner equally restated the commitment of the Govenor to give high priority to putting the right people in charge of sensitive positions for the good of the State.
He therefore thanked the Governor for doing the people of Kogi Local Government the honour and assured him of the commitment of people of the area to continue to support his policies and programmes.
