G21 congratulates newly inaugurated LG Chairmen, urges them to serve diligently »

A socio-political group advocating for good governance in Kogi State, the G21 Initiative, has congratulated winners and the recently inaugurated local government chairmen and ward Councillors, urging them to be magnanimous in victory and serve with utmost diligence.

This charge was contained in a statement issued on Monday in Lokoja by the Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Jatto Danbello.

InsideStory report that the election into the 21 local government areas and 239 wards were held on Saturday, 12th December, 2020, with the APC winning all Chairmanship and Councillorship seats.

The group said they were thrilled by the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election which was a testament of Governor Yahaya Bello’s humame disposition to peace, unity and fairness.

They called on losers in the contest to be gallant in defeat and maintain the existing peace in the state, adding there would always be winners and losers in an election.

The G21 group urged the new chairmen and council heads to justify the confidence reposed in them by being productive, loyal and effectively assist the Governor Yahaya Bello led New Direction Government in translating the Let’s Do More mantra into developing their respective local government areas.

While commending the Governor for his impartial position all through the process, the group assured the government of its continued support in achieving the overall development of the state.
