Gov Bello Attends St Andrews Military Church, Lokoja

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State attends the St. Andrew’s Military Church (Protestant) at Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, on the 9th of January 2022 as part of activities to commemorate the Nigerian Armed Forces day 2022.

His Deputy, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja represented the Governor at the interdenominational church service, delivering the Governor’s message. Quoting from the book of Judges Chapter 5 Vs 2-31, he preached on the role of leadership and sacrifice in every sphere of life, with the topic: Gratitude And Remembrance For Our Soldiers and Other Fallen Heroes. In his closing message, he opined that a soldier is not just a patriot of the purest order but also the very epitome of citizenship because of their sacrifices. This followed a poem of admonition and prayers for the fallen heroes and their families.

Prayers were held for the fallen heroes that have given their life to the course of safeguarding the country whilst the congregation also prayed for those currently at the war front, peace missions and other internal and external assignments.

On the team of the Deputy Governor is the State Security Adviser, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), aides of the Deputy Governor and other Government functionaries. Also present are the Commander Army Records, Commander NNS Lugard, State Director of SSS and other senior military and paramilitary officers.
