Nig. Army Training: Be Good Ambassadors, Kogi Deputy Speaker Urges Ankpa Indigenes

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Rt. Honorable Ahmed Mohammed had adviced indigenes from Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala local government areas currently at their final stage of the assessment exercises into the Nigerian Army’s 81 regular intake for 2021 to be at their best behavior, highly disciplined, and be good ambassadors as this are criteria for final selection to the depot for training.

The Deputy Speaker while addressing prospective candidates said he paid them a visit to cheer them and wish them well, as they are expected to proceed to the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria for other stages of their recruitment training.

He commend the men and women for their passion, determination and patriotism for choosing to enlist into the Army to serve their fatherland. He advised them to be good ambassadors of the Local Government and Kogi State, and under no circumstances should any of the prospective candidates misbehave during the stay at camp.

Mr. Ismail Haruna, a native of Ikanekpo in Ankpa LGA who spoke on behalf of other prospective candidates facilitated by Rt. Honorable Ahmed Mohammed, thank him for the opportunity, he promised the Deputy Speaker of their best performance and discipline. His words in part: “We thank you for giving us the opportunity to be enlisted, we are doing our best and we appreciate you for your support. Insha Allahu, we will not let you down. Thank you for coming to encourage us,” he said.

The Abeneche Ejeh Olamaboro and Omakoji Onu Ankpa was received at the barracks by the Training Commander, SSA on security to his Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello and top military officials. The candidates are currently at the final stage of the assessment exercises to qualify for recruitment into the Nigerian Army’s 81 regular intake for 2021.
