Gov. Bello emphasizes need for religious tolerance in Nigeria

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, on Friday, promised to see to the completion of Koton Karfè Central Mosque and work with the Muslim community to make sure quality work is done. He made the pledge at a fundraising program organized by the Muslim community in Koton Karfè.

The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Mohammad Jamiu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for giving the state government under the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello, the will, in establishing religious tolerance amongst the citizens of Kogi State.

He said the administration will continue to support religious groups because of their roles in societal development.

Gov. Bello assured the leadership of the Muslim community in Koton Karfi of the completion of the mosque project and enjoined them to always promote peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance in the State.

Pharm. Asuku who spoke on behalf of the Governor explained that the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello is about addressing peculiar needs of every society and to Kogi people, meeting religious needs is as important to them as providing other basic needs, hence his involvement in building places of worship in areas where such projects seem beyond citizens.

Hon. Asiru Idris while speaking at the fundraising program expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for the gesture and prayed Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.

Also present at the fundraiser was the former governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ibrahim Idris, The Ohimege-Igu of Koton-Karfè, HRM, Alh. Abdulrazaq Gambo Isakoto AGABA IDU!, President Jamatul Nasirul’ Islam JNI, Ambassador Usman Bello, Grand Khadi of the state Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa, Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Falake representing the deputy Governor, Honorable Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Bashir Gegu, and other top government officials.
