Gov. Bello Inaugurates Kogi Sanitation Task Force, charge them to improve on administration’s first term gains »

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has charged the newly inaugurated Kogi State Sanitation Task Force to ensure an improvement in the first tenure achievement of the administration in the area of Environmental Sanitation, waste Management and Overall cleanness.

The Governor affirmed that the task force was comprised of highly experienced persons and as such the sector should enjoy adequate boost.

Governor Bello made this known on Tuesday at the Inauguration of the Kogi State Sanitation Task Force held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, where he was represented by his Deputy, Edward Onoja.

The Governor added that his administration places serious importance on the state of its environment which was demonstrated through the numerous efforts made by his administration to position the state amongst the environmental friendly and conducive states in the country.

He pointed out that government’s effort were backed up with statistics as Kogi was named the second cleanest state in 2019 as against previously held narrative as the second dirtiest before the inception of the New Direction Government.

The Governor advised the task force to synergise so as to deliver a Clean Kogi State which would give passers by a good and positive impression of the state.

In his opening remark, the Chairman of the task force and Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Victor Omofaye lauded the State government’s achievements in creating a suitable and conducive environment in the first term through private involvement in the service.

He noted that the task force which is comprised of very experienced civil servants would be selfless, dogged and humane in there approach, following the directives of the governor

The commissioner assured the government of the readiness of the task force to perform their duties diligently.

In his vote of thanks, Secretary of the newly inaugurated committee, Mallam A.A Sanni, noted that the inauguration was timely owing to the current global pandemic which is majorly hinged on environmental sanitation.
