Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has signed into law the N258.2 Billion 2024 budget, expressing that the incoming administration will not find it tough to implement the provision of the budget and even achieve a 100 percent performance.

Governor Bello while signing the money bill into law on Wednesday, in an event which is significantly his final budget signing said his administration have laid a very solid foundation and would further continue to create an enabling environment, whereby the incoming government will be able to source for funds to implement the budget to the benefit of the people of the state.

He added that when he steps aside, he will always play his role to ensure that the solid foundation laid by his administration; a solid structure is built on it to the admiration of all the other states in the country.

Governor Bello who was full of immense gratitude to God For the opportunity to serve the good people of Kogi state in the last eight years expressed that the was satisfied and over joyous.

He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the people of Kogi state, his family members, Party leaders and other stakeholders for giving him all the support needed to thrive and achieve all these successes in his sojourn as the state governor of the confluence state.

He similarly lauded the Speaker, for his commitment and unwavering loyalty, noting that he was very confident, that as he was winding down and Ahmed Usman Ododo will be coming on board, working closely with the speaker, Kogi state will attain the height so desired.

He also thanked leaders and member of the state house of Assembly for an expeditious yet meticulous and thorough passage of the 2024 budget as well as other stakeholders that contributed to the success in time pass time and in present time.

Earlier in his address, the speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliu Umar Yusuf noted that the House of Assembly gave all their best in ensuring an expedite delivery of the budget adding that they engaged the respective Ministries, Department and Agencies.

The speaker asserted that as far as the members of the Kogi state House of Assembly were concerned they were satisfied with the budget presented by the governor, hence they ensured the conclusion of all the procedures of passing the budget for the governor’s signature.

He added that the house of Assembly also passed some other bills, including a bill to amend and re enact the Kogi state Local Government Law, Kogi state Oil Producing Area Development Commission bill, and a bill to amend the College of Nursing and Midwifery Obagende.

The Speaker however promised that the House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to partner with the incoming executive for the benefit of the state.
