Gov Bello’s Students aide warn students against acts inimical to education growth at varsity’s matriculation
Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Students Matters, Comrade Isah Onimisi Babangida has warned students of Kogi State University Anyigba and the state in general against acts capable of jeopardising their future.
He said this on Monday when he attended this year’s matriculation of the institution.
The aide who warned against cultism, examination malpractices, truancy, lateness to lectures, bad company and other vices, noted they were capable of hampering the growth of education in the state.
He said Govenor Yahaya Bello frowned upon such attitude because of his love for the growth of education and his deliberate decision to see the sector taken to a higher pedestal for his passion and concern for the welfare of students who are future leaders.
Comrade Babangida told newsmen at the occasion that as the representative of the Govenor, he had seen and understudied the idea of the present administration in terms of educational growth and that was why there was tremendous achievements by the government and people should expect more.
The SSA therefore called on all stakeholders to cooperate with the Govenor to enable him achieve set objectives, stressing that the society had nothing better to bequeath the next generation than education.
The Students Union President in the University, Comrade Bashir had applauded the Governor for appointing one of their own as an aide, and described Comrade Babangida as a Square peg in a square hole.
He also praised Govenor Bello for his seizeless support to students of the state origin, and pledged their loyalty and determination to mobilise support for the administration at all times.
Kogi State University remains a home to Comrade Babangida who was the Personal Assistant to the immediate past Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council to the institution, Professor Adam Ahmed and also worked at the office of the school’s Director of Students Affairs before his appointment by the Governor.
