Group Mobilizes Women Support for Gov. Bello’s Presidential Bid

A group of young women drawn from various associations across the state have agreed to come under an umbrella known as “Kogi Women and Ladies for One Voice.” to support Governor Bello’s presidential bid.

The initiative which aims at garnering support for his quest to lead Nigeria come 2023, has its membership in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

During the launching of the initiative which took place on Monday in Government House, Lokoja to commemorate with International Women’s Day celebration, the coordinator of the group, Miss Treasure Eunice Achimugu said it was part of efforts to reciprocate the governor’s forthrightness on women inclusion in governance.

“This group is formed from various female political groups that worked in the last governorship election in the state and grassroots based. As part of efforts to pay back in our little way, the much love shown to us by Yahaya Adoza Bello during our moments of work with him, and also appreciate him for given our women a chance in an unusual way in his government, is why we have decided to voluntarily come together as a body with one voice to canvass support ahead of 2023,” she explained.

“The group exist in the 21 local government areas of Kogi state with membership strength of above hundred persons for the now and today is our official launch and inauguration our state executives, zonal leaders, constituency leaders and local government coordinators,” she concluded.
