Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has described Gov. Bello’s commitment to massive infrastructural boost in the state particularly in the Health sector as amazing and unprecedented

He asserted that the sustenance of this momentum have resulted in the massive turn around in the health sector infrastructure currently witnessed alongside appropriate legislative framework that would enhance better services.

He gave these commendations in Lokoja on Thursday while inspecting the ongoing building construction work at the State Specialist Hospital Lokoja and the Okene Reference Hospital .

The Works and Housing Commissioner lauded the Governor for prioritizing the healthcare sector and funding the medical bills of the less privileged within and outside the country.

While expressing satisfaction over the pace and level of work being executed at these two sites, he further directed the contractors to adhere strictly to the approved design and safety standards.

He also commended the generosity of the Chief of Staff to the Governor Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu in his efforts at providing free medical healthcare services to indigenes and residents particularly for the cancer patients noting that such gesture was tremendous and worthy of emulation by all.

The Commissioner expressed joy over the kind gesture Pharm. Asuku recently extended to one Mrs. Onyi Moses from Ozuja, Obehira in Okene local government who was diagnosed with breast tumor and prayed for lifetime sustainability of this humanitarian service.

“This is the kind of services I also enjoy doing and I know how expensive they could be“ Ohere added.

Engr. Ohere, enlisted some of Governor Bello’s health care initiatives and laws such as Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme, Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Bello Cares initiative and above all Okene reference hospital bill recently passed into Law by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
