Former deputy governorship candidate in the 2015 election in Kogi State under the APC alongside Late Prince Abubakar Audu, Hon James Faleke has formally handed over the group’s structure to the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The handing over took place on Friday at the State Government House in Lokoja.

Hon Faleke said the decision to hand the structure to the Governor was because APC belonged to every stakeholder who laboured for its success at the polls and that it is their home which they must work together and nurture for future successes.

The lawmaker noted that while there might be differing opinions on how certain things should be done, there was need to always have quick reflection and consider others in scheme of things, hence the decision to return the structure to Governor Yahaya Bello.

While describing the APC as a progressive group with the interest of majority of the people at heart, he applauded Governor Bello for his developmental strides in the state.

He praised the Governor for the feat he has recorded in the area of security, saying no achievement of note can be recorded in an atmosphere of insecurity and loss of lives and property.

The lawmaker began his address by first soliciting a minute’s silence for the peaceful repose of the souls of his Late Principal, Prince Abubakar Audu and former lawmaker, Hon Buba Jibril and prayed God to grant them Jannatul – Firdaus.

In her own address, a chieftain of the party in Igalaland, Barrister Halima Alfa recalled that Late Audu had prophesied that Governor Bello would fill his shoes someday as a flag bearer of the APC and possibly Governor because of his humility when he came second at the party’s primaries held in 2015.

She therefore said she was not surprised that Bello is the Governor even as she lambasted some political figures of Kogi East extraction that have been deceiving their people with the mantra of doing an Igala Agenda.

In his speech, Governor Yahaya Bello thanked leaders of the group for their genuine commitment to fight for the APC, saying the party had enough room for everyone to operate.

He then appealed to Hon Faleke to be on ground in Kogi West to galvanise the people into voting the party en mass to ensure the success of its Kogi West Senatorial Candidate, Senator Smart Adeyemi.
