Kogi: Oshiomole hands APC flag to Gov Bello/Onoja

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday formally handed APC flag to the party’s governorship candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello and his running mate, the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja in Kogi State.

APC’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole gave Gov Bello/Chief Onoja the flag during the official commencement of campaigns by the party for the November 16 governorship poll at Idah Local Government Area of the state.

Oshiomhole, who presented the duo to the crowd of supporters, after handing them the flag, reiterated the confidence the leadership of the party has in the capability of Governor Bello to move Kogi State to the next phase of development.

He said, “We have come as comrades to join forces with your Governor and to remind you to vote APC on November 16, because we have absolute confidence in his ability to take Kogi to the next phase of good governance.”

The party’s National Chairman described the flagbearer of the APC, Governor Bello as a man who understands the language of the people and that could create opportunities that has deluded the state in time past.

“Kogi is work in progress, the problem with governance is that, the more work you do, the more you realise you have to do. He has passed through the elementary stage, he is going to begin to fly,” he concluded.

Also speaking, Senator Smart Adeyemi, who is the Director-General, Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council, said the large turnout of crowd at the rally was an indication of the wide acceptance of the party and its candidate in the state.

“Our people have turned out in their thousands to give their support. This is a confirmation that APC is the only party in Kogi State. Governor Bello is the outstanding leader the state has produced in recent times.

“This election from every indication has been won. Followers have continued to show great love and commitment to this course, which is a nod that the Governor should continue in the office,” he concluded.
