When you are done crossing the ‘t’s and dotting the ‘i’s ahead of November 11th governorship election in Kogi State, you cannot but affirm the silent but domineering presence of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the top. This feat was not achieved by Alhaji Ododo by mischievously playing on the emotions and sensibilities of the people of Kogi State as others would do, he was rather dexterous and concerted in his effort to sell his spelt-out plans when elected.

Fancy Media Team (FMT) has been particularly excited at the ease with which Alhaji Ododo consistently dismantles the opposition with his set of cultured, refined and focused campaign team. Each of his political moves and that of his ally, Comrade Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege (Fancy) is rewarded with unprecedented harvest of prominent opposition figures that are ready to tip him to victory. While others scamper for relevance like a petrified mouse, the unfazed candidate of the broom party is firmly set to once again sweep victory for his party.

The position of members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lugard House on 2nd September, 2023 when Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje inaugurated the national campaign committee was instructive. They were unequivocal in their declarations that Alhaji Ododo is best fit for consolidating the gains of the New Direction Administration when they unveiled his manifesto.

For the Chairman of National Campaign Committee for Kogi State Governorship election and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo’Olu and other packs of prominent APC stakeholders, there is absolutely no vacancy in Lugard House that calls for contest ab initio.

The essence of governance is embedded in the ability of those at the helm of affairs to judiciously utilize state’s resources with workable plans and this was aptly captured in Alhaji Ododo’s manifesto. In the manifesto, Alhaji Ododo promised to continue to recognize the place of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in driving the state’s economy through youths engagement and women participation in governance. Among other vital areas of the state economy which Alhaji Ododo has pledged to build on the firm foundation laid by Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration is the continuous revamping of educational sector and security architecture which many have referenced to be a perfect adaptation from the successful New Direction Blueprint of his principal, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
