The State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja made the revelation on Wednesday in Lokoja when he gave audience to the Federal House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development in his office.

He said the NYSC camp was receiving attention for the first time under the current administration because Governor Yahaya Bello was a man that gives utmost priority to anything that concerns the youths.

“Upon resumption of office, the Governor, in one of the orientation camps he attended, found out lapses in available infrastructure and decided it was not ideal for the corps members and NYSC staff and began to correct the deficit as a caring leader that he is.

“But there is a need for there to be a balance between executing as many projects as possible and meeting the welfare needs of the civil servants. That concern has caused the delay in completing the projects but attention would be given to the projects in 2020.”

He then expressed gratitude to members of the Committee for the job they were doing and enjoined them to work assiduously to ensure a better future for Nigerian youth.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Yemi Adaramodu had intimated that as members of the Youth Development Committee, it was their responsibility to ensure they showed concerns and perform oversight functions to nip the situation in the bud.

He expressed gratitude to the state government under Governor Bello for giving attention to the camp and appealed for accelerated work on the projects being executed by the present administration in the NYSC camp.
