KGSG says it will continue to provide excellent leadership

Kogi State Government says it will continue to provide excellent leadership by fostering unity for the overall progress of the state.

The State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja made the remark on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen on the progress of work done at the Government House Chapel, Lokoja.

Chief Onoja said the present administration under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has shown exceptional leadership quality by carrying along religious and the various nationalities living in the state.

According to him, the efforts of the New Direction administration in giving a sense of belonging to the different religious groups has further promoted religious harmony and united the people.

The Deputy Governor pointed out that the building of a Christian Chapel in Government House, twenty-eight years after the creation of state was a feat that should be praised by all well meaning citizens.

Chief Onoja described the appointment of young persons into leadership positions to contribute their quota to governance and the development of the state as a rare quality of excellent leadership by Governor Yahaya Bello, which was lacking in the old.

On security, the Deputy Governor said government has succeeded in keeping criminals away and ensured that the people sleep with their two eyes closed. He added that the present administration has also provided basic amenities across the state and would continue to do more.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop John Ibenu expressed delight that the project is ninety- nine percent completed and that furniture and other necessities were in place.

Bishop Ibenu, who praised Governor Yahaya the and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja for their commitment to the project, called on Northern Governors to emulate the gesture for religious tolerance in their various states.

He added that Chapel would be dedicated soon while the Christmas Carol at the Government House would hold at the Chapel on Saturday.
