Kogi ACReSAL boss pays courtesy visit on Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja

The Project Coordinator, Kogi State ACReSAL, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto – OON was in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, yesterday, May 8, 2024, on a courtesy visit.

In attendance was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and other Senior Staff of the University, while the Environment and Safeguards Officer of the SPMU was part of the PC’s entourage

While welcoming the Project Coordinator, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, thanked the Project Coordinator for the visit; whilst also using the opportunity to solicit the support of Kogi State Government through the Kogi State ACReSAL Project in curbing the menace of gully erosion threatening critical infrastructure in the school.

He equally praised the project coordinator for the tree planting revolution she is championing in the state and also requested that the tree planting gesture be extended to the University Permanent Site.

He also sought collaboration with the Kogi ACReSAL Project to support the University’s Zoo project, as well as the planned recreation park within the university premises.

On her part, the project coordinator appreciated the vice-chancellor for the good work he is doing in ensuring academic excellence in the university and urged him to carry on with the good work.

She went further to inform the Vice-Chancellor of Kogi ACReSAL’s desire to partner with the university in the areas of research and support to the university.

She also used the opportunity to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Government of Kogi State had earlier completed the Engineering Design for intervention works at the Federal University Lokoja under the NEWMAP Project, which metamorphosed into the ACReSAL Project. She therefore urged the Vice-Chancellor to be patient, as she was sure that His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the environment-friendly Governor with a passion for environmental protection, who only recently signed the Contracts for Intervention works at ETAHI, OMIGBO & ANKPA Gully Sites through the Kogi ACReSAL Project, would ensure that intervention works at the FUL comes to fruition.

The highlight of the courtesy call was a visit to the Zoo.
