Kogi Assembly Member, Jibril Abu Receives Chieftaincy Title

A member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Jibril Abu, representimg Ajaokuta State Constituency has been conferred with a Chieftaincy title.

Jibril Abu popularly known as Wisdom Bank who was installed as Magindadi Gabas of Girinya, Kogi local government area along with other prominent sons and daughters from Kogi State, was graciously honoured in the presence of an overwhelming crowd. The title according to the traditional ruler, the Ohinoyi of Girinya Kingdom was borne out as a result of the performance and quality representation by the lawmaker.

He said the remarkable display of recognition and honor transcends local government or constituency boundaries, stressing that the legislator is being honored for his dedication to public service, and contributions to the promotion of peace and unity across Kogi State.

Amidst a gathering of dignitaries, including traditional rulers, political leaders, and well-wishers, Honourable Jibril Abu was adorned with traditional regalia and bestowed with the revered chieftaincy title, symbolizing his integration into the fabric of the Girinya Kingdom and his acceptance as a trusted ally and leader.

Expressing gratitude for the esteemed recognition, Jibril extended his appreciation to the traditional ruler and elders of Girinya Kingdom, reaffirming his commitment to fostering collaboration, understanding, and mutual respect among diverse communities across the state.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this chieftaincy title from the esteemed leaders of Girinya. This recognition further strengthens my resolve to promote unity, peace, and development, not only in Kogi State but across our great nation,” Jibril remarked.

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of the occasion and the state Commissioner Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Bashir Gegu, described the event as a happy and memorable one for the Girinya chiefdom. He said the recipients of various titles are people of proven integrity and commitment to community development.

He nnoted that the chieftaincy title honors were a handshake of friendship across lines of ethnicity and religion, stressing the need for all to continue to unite in working towards a more united and prosperous Kogi State.
