Governor Yahaya Bello has called on the electorate in Kogi Central senatorial districts to support, mobilize and vote for all candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February and March elections.
Bello made the call when he flagged off the APC campaign for presidential, national and state assemblies at Agasa-Uruvochinomi Juncture, Okene, his country home on Tuesday.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at the ground shaking campaign, Bello described the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a great leader whose vision, tenacity and character stood him out among other contenders.
He urged Kogi electorate to vote APC candidates with an unprecedented number of votes at the polls.
“APC presidential candidate is the best choice for Nigeria. Aside being a visionary leader, Tinubu has also been an advocate of unity and a figure who has stood firm in support of national cohesion. We all are witnesses to all outstanding achievements to his name. His reputation stands tall among his peers and he is the right man for the job,” Gov. Bello said.
The Governor while presenting the party flag to candidates thanked the multitude of supporters for their loyalty, asserting that the achievements recorded by the present administration in execution of legacy projects would be small compared to what the APC government will consolidate when reelected into office.
He also maintained that the party will continue to ensure truth and justice in all its activities, saying it will mobilize party supporters and bring on board as many as they can into the party.
According to him, when the party comes back into power, the people of Kogi State will have a lot to benefit as projects will be attracted to the state in the overall benefit of the people.
Governor Bello, who canvassed support for the Senatorial and House of Representatives as well as State House of Assembly candidates, promised that the electorate will not regret doing so.
The Governor urged the people to give their total support to all APC candidates as they did in 2019 to ensure continuation in its programmes.
The party’s senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, said APC’s priorities would focus on improving human capital development and harnessing energy of the youth through job creation and empowerment.
“We stand before you all with a solemn promise that when we are elected, we will continue and build on the progressive path laid forth by our party since 2015. We have a clear agenda for the future of the country and with your support; we will work to achieve a better future for you and for all of us”, Ohere said.
Speaking earlier the Director General, Kogi State 2023 Presidential, Senatorial and State Assembly Campaign Council and Chief of State to the Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku thanked the supporters while he assured that the party had presented credible and popular candidates hence the victory of the APC at the polls was guaranteed. He added that it was time to ensure the the presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima as well as other candidates are voted into office.
In his remarks Director-General, Kogi Central Campaign Council, Abubakar Adagu, described Governor Yahaya Bello as a leader who is concerned about the well being and growth of the party.
While acknowledging the Governor’s effort at transforming the state, he assured that all APC candidates will be voted into office for more dividends of democracy.
Adagu also commended the Governor for being an exemplary leader who has produced men of proven integrity to lead, assuring of the people’s support.
