Kogi City Boy Movement Honours Ododo as Patron, Reaffirms Support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
Political mobilisation in Kogi State gathered renewed momentum on Wednesday as the Kogi State chapter of the City Boy Movement paid a strategic visit to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Government House in Lokoja, where the Governor was formally honoured as Patron of the movement.
The engagement, which extended beyond ceremonial formalities, focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation and deepening support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Ododo described support for President Tinubu’s administration as a collective responsibility of progressive political structures across the state, stressing that Kogi remains committed to the developmental vision and policy direction of the Federal Government.
The Governor assured members of the movement of his full support, commending their consistency in political mobilisation, civic engagement and sustained advocacy for the programmes and achievements of both the Federal Government and the Kogi State administration.
He noted that political organisations founded on conviction and ideological commitment often outlive election cycles, adding that groups dedicated to political education and grassroots mobilisation play a significant role in strengthening democratic culture.
Earlier, the Director of the City Boy Movement in Kogi State expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for fostering what he described as a politically inclusive environment that enables young people and support groups to actively participate in governance and political engagement.
According to him, the movement has remained consistent in promoting the leadership philosophy of President Tinubu while also highlighting the developmental strides of the Ododo administration across the state.
He disclosed that the group has continued to expand its support base through coordinated grassroots sensitisation, advocacy campaigns and strategic political mobilisation across the various local government areas of the state ahead of future political activities.
The Director also appealed for the Governor’s support towards the forthcoming inauguration of the movement in Kogi State, including assistance with operational coordination and office accommodation to strengthen its institutional presence.
The high point of the meeting was the conferment of the title of Patron of the City Boy Movement on Governor Ododo, a gesture the group said symbolised its confidence in the Governor’s leadership style, accessibility and alignment with the progressive ideals of President Tinubu.
