Massive Turnout as Kogi CityBoy Movement Holds Town Hall Meeting

There was a massive turnout of members and supporters of the CityBoy Movement in Kogi State as the organisation held a Town Hall Meeting in Lokoja, bringing together participants from across the state.
The meeting, held at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, was themed “Rise of the New Political Generation” and formed part of activities marking the movement’s engagement with its members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event was attended by the Director-General of the CityBoy Movement, Hon. Oluwatosin Francis Shoga, who led a national delegation to the state.
Members of the delegation included the Deputy Director-General/Coordinator, Hon. Favour Abayomi; Deputy Director-General, Operations, Princess Atika Ajanah; Deputy Director, North Central Coordinator, Yahya Sarki; and Director, Community Engagement, Amb. Fatima Yusuf.
The gathering also featured activities at the movement’s new state secretariat, membership registration and an empowerment exercise for beneficiaries from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Beneficiaries received sewing machines and other livelihood-support materials as part of the exercise.
Speaking at the Town Hall Meeting, Shoga commended the Kogi chapter for the level of mobilisation recorded across the state, saying the turnout demonstrated the organisational work being undertaken by the chapter.
He recalled the support recorded from Kogi during the previous election cycle and described the state as strategically important to the movement’s mobilisation plans ahead of 2027.
Shoga also referenced the chapter’s stated target of delivering one million votes and suggested that the turnout at the gathering could result in a higher figure.
Addressing the State Director, Ogah Mark Okpanachi, the Director-General said: “Well done. Keep up the good work. Tinubu is watching, and the national leadership of the CityBoy Movement is watching.”
Princess Atika Ajanah also commended the turnout, pledging continued support for the Kogi chapter under Okpanachi’s leadership.
She described Kogi as “my own” and said she would do everything within her capacity to support the movement in the state.
Yahya Sarki urged the chapter to sustain its grassroots engagement and mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Representing Governor Ododo at the gathering, the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, conveyed the Governor’s goodwill to the participants.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh, represented the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, and also conveyed her goodwill to the gathering.
In his response, Okpanachi thanked the national leadership for visiting Kogi and attributed the turnout to the structure being developed by the state chapter.
He disclosed that the movement had more than 80,000 registered members in Kogi, while noting that some registrations were still awaiting final entry into the central database.

Okpanachi said the chapter would continue to “Inform, Engage, Empower and Mobilize” residents across the 21 Local Government Areas.
He reiterated the one-million-vote target and said the chapter would intensify its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Town Hall Meeting was held alongside the inspection of the movement’s new state secretariat, membership registration and empowerment activities, in what organisers described as a major engagement with members across Kogi State.
