Kogi Dep Gov promises more projects as “Let’s Do More” promise takes effect

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has promised the people of the state more projects to demonstrate the meaning of the “Let’s Do More” campaign slogan of the just concluded governorship election in the state by the APC.

The promise was made on Sunday in Olamaboro Local Government Area while inspecting some projects as captured in a press statement made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Promise Emmanuel.

According to the statement, Chief Onoja inspected four Town Hall Buildings due for commissioning in the coming weeks for the use of the benefitting communities.

The projects, the release said, were made possible by the efforts of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; personal efforts of the deputy governor and his network of friends in fulfilment of his promise to the people during the recently held inaugural Ogugu Day Celebration.

The statement noted that the deputy governor also inspected rural water projects spread across Kogi East which are also due for commissioning before the end of the year.

The statement further reads; “To Chief Onoja, the “Do More” promise of the APC campaign is a reality of development, a commitment not to forget the promises made to various communities before elections.

“He also used the opportunity to reveal plans to lay the foundation for Guest Houses for the Traditional Ruler of Igala land and President of Kogi State Council of Chiefs, (HRM) Dr. Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni II to be situated in Anyigba and Ankpa.”

It added that the deputy governor also paid condolence visits to some beareaved families in Emonyoku, his ancestral home, then to Egah, home of the late Chief John Abuh Simon, a PDP stalwart who died during the March 2019 general election in the state; he also visited the family of late Alhaji Linco Ocheje where he prayed God to rest the souls of the deceased and grant the families fortitude.

The Deputy Governor also visited Anyigba and Bassa where he met with the traditional heads, Alhaji Shaibu Okolo, the Ogohi Onu Anyigba, and Williams Keke, the Aguma of Bassa respectively.

He appreciated the roles played by the royal fathers in the reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello and promised that the government will not go back on its promises to the people.
