Rashida Bello supports physically challenged parents of triplets

Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello has reiterated her willingness to continue to accord priority to the welfare of vulnerable citizens in the state.

Mrs Bello made this known on Monday when she visited Mr and Mrs Mudi Idrisu living g with disabilities, who just had triplets at Ogbagbo in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, where she donated food items, beverages, clothings, cash and others materials to the kids.

Wife of the Governor who was represented by the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Ejura Mercy Onoja said the decision to reach out to the triplets was borne out of a sincere desire to ease the living condition of the triplets and their parents.

She called on other well meaning citizens not to withhold support from the family as the plight of the parents being physically challenged and their battle for survival following the birth of their gifted triplets needs the assistance of all.

Parents of the triplets, described the governor’s wife gesture in the superlatives, “as overwhelming” having received the gesture of Governor Yahaya Bello previously through his Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja.

According to them, they never had to search for too long to get necessary assistance from the state government and expressed gratitude, praying to God to sustain Governor Bello and his team in its quest to pilot the state’s affairs to an enviable height.

Earlier, the President of People Living with Disability in Kogi State, Mr Arome Ibrahim said the New Direction administration since inception has continued to accord adequate attention to their well being.

His words: “Before now, we suffered so much stigmatization, we were relegated to the background, but the coming on board of Governor Bello, gave us a sense of belonging.

“We have over 20, 000 people living with disability across Kogi State, we have a prayer section which is scheduled to hold this week, and our sole purpose is to pray for Governor Bello and his cabinet members, because we can not pay him back for how he has been helpful,” he concluded.
