Kogi Election: ‘Absence Of Ibro, Abubakar Idris At PDP Omala Rally, Bad Omen For Musa Wada’, Says Ohikere

The Secretary of the Media and Publicity Committee of the APC 2019 Governorship Campaign Council, Dr Tom Ohikere has disclosed that the conspicuous absence of former Governor Ibrahim Idris and his son, Abubakar Idris at the Omala and Ankpa rally of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday is a sign that the opposition party is still grappling with disaffection in its rank and a bad omen for Musa Wada, the party’s candidate.

Ohikere said Ibrahim Idris and his son are key stakeholders of the PDP in Kogi state and are from Omala local government area, so they not being at the rally shows that Musa Wada is not the preference of a large section of the party’s membership which will play out at the poll in the favour of the APC.

Ohikere stated this in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Abuja. He said “You can see their campaign is faltering, the rancor in their rank is no more a hidden thing. The conspicuous absence of Former Governor Ibrahim Idris and his son, Abubakar Idris clearly shows you that certain section of PDPs base are no longer for them again.

“Musa Wada seems a divisive figure, failing to reconcile and bring on board such powerful figures and forces. There is a statement making round on Abubakar Idris withdrawing his case against Musa Wada but we are yet to see a formal statement from Abubakar or from the party to that effect, and if so why was he not on the Omala campaign train.”

“This is bad for the PDP, we are urging them to join the BELLO/CEDO team. The people of Kogi East are speaking, and there are ample signs that they are willing to go down a different road this time around.”

“The APC has delivered and is delivering, they should give them another four year to consolidate and modernize our beloved state.

“You can see the refurbishment of Igala house, roads being constructed across Igalaland, the improvement on power supply, basic education and several other accomplishments. So Omala, Ankpa and other areas are for the APC. When our campaign train reaches there you would see the outpouring of affection and unity.”

“So Musa Wada is just a man alone, pursuing a no case. He has been rejected by his own people. So for APC that is a good thing. “
