Kogi governor describes death of lawmaker as colossal loss to state
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has expressed shock over the passing of the member representing Yagba East State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Jimoh Musa Omiata while describing his passing as a colossal loss to the state and the nation’s legislative organ.
the governor’s condolence message was contained in a press statement issued and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed.
“Today, on behalf of the people of Kogi State, I extend my deepest condolences to the family, Kogi State House of Assembly and friends of Hon Jimoh Omiata who passed away on Sunday evening after a brief illness.
Hon Omiata was a true patriot who dedicated his life to public service. He was a passionate advocate for the people he represented, and his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. We mourn his loss and will continue to honor his memory by upholding the values he championed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. I pray to God Almighty to grant his soul eternal rest”, the governor said.
governor Bello described Hon Omiata as a refined gentleman and an exemplary lawmaker with a great experience.
Hon Jimoh Musa Omiata was a member of the sixth and seventh Assembly until his death at the age of 57 after a brief illness.
